Aortic stenosis, a life-threatening condition, is an abnormal narrowing of the aortic valve that restricts blood flow from the heart to the organs and tissue. The percutaneous aortic valve replacement clinical trial – available in Florida only at University of Miami Hospital – uses experimental procedure to treat aortic stenosis in patients who are not eligible for open-heart surgery.
