Research Interests

There are over 20,000 new cases of hepatocellular carcinoma or primary liver cancer diagnosed each year in the United States. Dr. Jones' research focuses on the identification and elimination of disparities in diagnosis,  management and outcomes of hepatocellular carcinoma. She is evaluating how race and gender impact outcomes of liver cancer. She also is identifying practice patterns of screening and surveillance for hepatocellular carcinoma in high risk populations, with the ultimate goal of increasing early detection, improving available treatments and decreasing mortality.
