Biography

 Jose W. Ruiz, MD, FACS is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Miami, School of Medicine. He specializes in the treatment of nasal/sinus disorders, voice problems and sleep apnea. He is fully licensed and board certified in Otolaryngology. Dr. Ruiz has received several awards for his research in Otolaryngology and continues to be active in clinical research.

In early 2015 he was appointed Associate Chief Medical Information Officerand remains active in information access across the medical campus.

He graduated in the top of his class from the University of Miami undergraduate and medical school, receiving the distinction of early induction into both Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha, respectively. He completed residency and has been on staff since 2006 at UHealth Department of Otolaryngology.

He is an active member of the American Rhinological Society, American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, American College of Surgeons, American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, Florida Society of Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery, and Greater Miami ENT Society.
