Melina Mora, M.S., CCC-SLP, is a Speech-Language Pathologist in the Department of Otolaryngology. She earned her M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology at Florida International University and holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Ms. Mora is bilingual and is fluent in both English and Spanish. She specializes in assessment and rehabilitation of neurogenic swallowing and communication (i.e., motor-speech, language, and cognitive-linguistic) disorders in adults resulting from stroke, traumatic brain injury and/or neurodegenerative disease. In addition, she specializes in the evaluation and treatment of speech and swallowing disorders due to head and neck cancer. She is proficient in conducting videofluoroscopic swallow studies (modified barium swallow studies), fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing, assessing candidacy for augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices, and in the management of tracheoesophageal voice prostheses due to total laryngectomy. Ms. Mora has the personable skills to communicate effectively with her patients to help improve their quality of life.
